Map Description

Gameplay

Fiend uniquely blends traditional tower defense with team vs. team siege games. The depth of building options in Fiend epitomize its distinctly different approach to tower defense. Players are given a wealth of races (9 total) to choose from, each characterized by very distinct advantages and disadvantages that require both different building strategies and a command of their strengths and weaknesses.

Teams with more than 3 players must face attacking melee rounds between pathing rounds, increasing the difficulty for large teams and providing an avenue for players away from the spawn regions to gain kills and gold. Leaked pathing monsters become the property of the opponent team, which they can use to help defend their region, or utilize in concert with heroes and siege towers to attack opponent bases.

Along with traditional ground and air rounds, Fiend also has rounds where heroes path along with ground units. Pathing heroes do not count as leaks but carry unique, powerful mini-towers which can only be used by hero units; mini-towers are dropped when pathing heroes are killed.

Features

  • Each of the nine races is capable of building two very different types of tower-builder units and an optional hero-builder unit, allowing players who have grown bored with traditional tower defense games to explore a series of tower building and hero strategies.
  • As part of the unique design, players can also engage opponent teams in open siege-style warfare, utilizing their own heroes, siege towers, and pathing monsters that leak through the opponent team's region.
  • Fiend boasts 45 custom heroes, 50 rounds of custom pathing monsters, 50+ custom items, custom spells and upgrades, all of which have been carefully balanced by months of playtesting from dedicated people.
  • Fiend has over 200 unique towers to choose from, each with specifically structured tactical uses.
  • Each race has 3 types of available custom heroes, each with custom designed spells and 35 hero levels.
  • Hero-building units can also create specialized shops selling custom items and providing custom hero upgrades.
  • Fiend has been designed to be played equally well as a single player map, a single team (cooperative) map, and a team vs. team siege-style map. Fiend also adjusts to the number of players on a team, and compensates for players that quit mid-game.

Modes

  • There are currently four game modes available: 30 leaks, 10 leaks, 0 leaks, and Fiend Stream (head to head). Hidden codes that unlock unique heroes also are also given out for winning Zero Fiends (0 leaks allowed).
  • Teams are capable of controlling the difficulty for their side of the map in-game, as well.
