Mapathon 2007

The 2007 edition of the Mapathon contest is based on the 2006 edition, with some changes. The main judges are Galahaut and SeasonsOfLove.

[edit] Format
Similarly to the 2006 edition, there will be weekly contests based on a theme (to be posted by the judges). There will be 48 hours given for these contests, and testing of the maps will begin at 8 PM Sunday nights (with the theme posted at 8 PM Friday night). After the initial testing is completed, there will be a one hour period available for map authors to create fixed versions of their entries. Unlike the 2006 edition, each weekly contest map will be judged only on concept, and not on playability.
After eight weeks of these contests, a month shall be given to allow competitors to polish and refine any of the maps made for the weekly contests. After these 4 weeks, the maps shall again be judged, for both concept and playability (using the criteria of the previous year).
